The project is driven by three main operational components oriented to the elimination of a large Soviet era’ POPs and other obsolete pesticide stockpile/burial site at Nubarashen, located in one of the outskirts of Yerevan city and to develop hazardous waste management capabilities in the country.

Additionally, this work includes the strengthening of national capacities for hazardous waste management including the improvement of the analytical capacity for characterization of highly contaminated soils with POPs pesticides on a local/national scale.

Present assignment: Development of the Strategy for Upgrading National Laboratory Capacity related to PCBs/POPs and hazardous chemicals and waste in Armenia.
